Based upon the short story of the same name, Octopussy, this visual narrative still life watercolor, depicts the last moments of Major Dexter Smythe, RMC, Ret., who stole German gold bars during WW2, and murdered Bond’s friend from his youth - Hannes Oberhauser. We see the broken dreams of wealth and objects of a life of luxury flash through Smythe's mind’s eye, as he is caught by an octopus, whose tentacles wrap around his arm and drag him down slowly, under the waves to a watery grave…Bond reflects that Smythe got exactly what he deserved.
